Since I brought my dog home, I've kept him on the diet prescribed by his breeder, and he seems to be doing very well. The vet can't say enough about how healthy he is (which is reassuring to me since we had a fiasco with a sick puppy who died after two weeks with us last year). However, since I've started working on training him, I've wanted to find some good recipes for dog biscuits. I want to keep him motivated without filling him up on things that aren't really nutritious.
I recently discovered this great pet food site which explains the benefits of homemade dog food. They also have a great selection of recipes for doggy cookies and even chicken feet - although those will not be appearing in my kitchen any time soon! I am going to do some baking for Benjamin this weekend. I bet the kids will enjoy helping!
Won't he be a happy pup?
