This year, my vacation plans include San Diego, California, and an all-inclusive somewhere in Mexico. I'm very excited, and the kids are really looking forward to both our trips. However, I'm already starting to think about next year.
I really want to travel to Europe. As a parent, I feel very strongly about making sure that my children see the world, and there are so many interesting things to see, overseas. I'm not sure if we will be able to pull off a major European vacation as long as I'm sharing custody with my ex - our agreement only allows for week long trips, and I feel like we would need to spend at least two weeks in Europe in order to do it "right."
Even though the airfare would be killer, I am thinking that we might need to take multiple trips in order to see everything we want to see. Germany - specifically Auschwitz - is somewhere I would really like to visit. It would be a very somber trip, but overall I think it would be excellent.
I would also like to visit France and stay in a fancy French hotel. I studied French in high school and college, and I think it would be fun to try to converse with native speakers. My kids would be awfully impressed with me!
Have any of my readers done Europe in small doses? I would love to hear more about your experiences.
