Backpacking around Europe . . . isn't that a classic young-person fantasy? I guess I haven't quite outgrown that one yet, but I'm not so stupid as to think we could manage that sort of trip with our two little ones in tow. It looks like if we go abroad, we'll be staying in a lot of hotels!
To be honest, I was kind of surprised that Mike was interested in going overseas to see England, Ireland, Scotland, and Germany. I'm the one who usually wants to travel and comes up with our vacation ideas; he's the one who complains that he's not getting anything done around the house when we go away. However, Mike brought up this trip all by himself, and in a year or two, we're going to make it a reality. I'm dreading the plane rides already, but I'm looking forward to staying in posh London hotels. I've been to London before, so I know what to expect.
Since I've never been to Glasgow and Edinburgh, I had to look up some information on those stops. The Glasgow hotels also look very nice, and I found a lot of quaint Edinburgh hotels that will allow us to explore the culture there quite easily. I should probably be relieved that we're not backpacking; I really do like to be pampered a bit on vacation.
