Whenever August comes, I know I need to start watching ads for school supplies. The list of what my daughter needs seems to get longer every year, and requires stops at multiple stores. My goal for this year was to get everything done within three stops, which would be a record for me. I spent my Sunday afternoon creating a spreadsheet listing everything I needed, where the best deals where, and mapping out the best route. This year my daughter needed a special calculator in addition to the usual notebooks, binders, pencils and crayons. I knew Target would be my main resource for most of the supplies, but I saw that the office supply stores had great deals! this time around as well. I did not even tell my daughter where I was going. Instead, I distracted her by sending her to the waterpark with my husband for the afternoon. Once they were gone, I grabbed my spreadsheet printout and ads, set our wireless burglar alarm, and headed out the door. I was determined to get this project done without a lot of stress and frustration, and felt I had an excellent plan in place. Once I got home and showed everything to my daughter she was thrilled with my choices and I was glad to have accomplished everything so smoothly.
