As a mom who firmly believes in being at home with her kids, I am always looking for ways to make money without giving up too much of my precious family time. I just started reading about job-sharing, and it sounds like an excellent way for parents who have to work to continue their professional lives without giving up a full 40 hours a week.
An agency called Career Partners was created to bring potential job-sharers together. They use a personality profile and in depth questionnaire to match up people in related fields. If an employer decided to accept the job sharing partnership, the two employees would essentially act as one, dividing all the responsibilities and tasks needed to perform the job. They would be expected to work a 20-30 hour week, significantly less than a full-time executive position. For moms who have put a lot of time and energy into their careers, finding a career partner can be a great way to stay involved in the business world and in their childrens' lives.
Do you feel like your job is holding you back? Divide up the work and conquer your tasks with a career partner!
