I've been doing some networking recently, and a few different times, I've been put in touch with people who are writing about the United Kingdom. Today, as a matter of fact, I came across a blog for New Zealand residents who are contemplating travel to England. Apparently, that's a very popular travel destination for people in NZ.
Coming from the U.S., the more I think about England the more I feel almost ready to take that trip back across the pond. Sure, the air travel will be excruciating, but I've discovered the joy of combining stressful flights with very pleasant wine, and I might be able to work that angle for the six or so hours I would have to be on a plane. What's more, I would be terribly excited about the trip!
Still, I'm not sure my kids are quite ready to get enough out of our travels to make it worth the expense of going overseas. I know they -- and I -- would have a wonderful time. Unfortunately, I'm not made of money, and I won't be able to afford a trip like this many times over the years. If it's going to be a big splurge, I want to do it when I'm sure they'll remember it and take it all in.
Even so, if everyone keeps drawing my attention back to England, I will probably break down and plan a trip there sooner, rather than later!
