Sometimes - usually when election season rolls around in the United States - I start thinking about picking up and moving to another country. England is usually my country of choice; I'm not fluent in any other languages, I've been there before, and I admit, I would love to cultivate that adorable accent!
Of course, I'd be leaving my job here to move across the pond. That would mean looking for jobs in London, which seems like a very competitive market, or maybe checking out jobs in Surrey or jobs in Manchester. It would require a whole lot of research and planning - not to mention court approval to move with my children, and as much as I hate our political situation here, I'm not sure I really want to give up my awesome job or worry about finding a new one that I would enjoy as much. Besides, there's trouble everywhere in the world now, not just here in the USA.
I always think about moving, and sometimes I even start making plans, but I know deep down, here is where I am, and here is where I'm going to stay. If I'm not happy with our politics and our leaders, the best thing I can do is try to change them!
